Porn became my response to every kind of feeling

I used it when life felt hard and as a reward when things went well. Finding other people with the same struggle made change feel possible.

Hello! I would like to share my story. I am currently trying to recover from compulsive masturbation. I am twenty-four and began masturbating when I was fifteen or sixteen. I don’t remember exactly. Unfortunately, online porn can be extremely addictive. Over time I began searching for stronger stimulation. When the “missionary position” was no longer enough, I think I saw almost every possible way people can have sex: beginning with traditional positions, then lesbian sex, gay sex, sex involving cross-dressers, anal sex, oral sex and every other sexual position, and ending with all kinds of fetishes, domination and the most extreme orgies.

I masturbated in many different situations: when I couldn’t cope with life, as a reward for success, when I was depressed, and so on. After several years of intense masturbation, I concluded that something was wrong with me. I walked around feeling dazed, fantasized constantly, had headaches, felt terribly sleepy and stumbled. I should add that I don’t have a girlfriend. In general, I felt weak and thought I was ill. Despite many attempts to quit, I kept returning to the habit. The temptation always proved stronger—but I found a way out of the situation.

I started going to the gym. The desire to masturbate decreased, while I gained fifteen kilograms and added ten centimetres to my biceps ;) Even so, the temptation remained stronger, so I decided to ask Uncle Google how other people handled this problem. I came across a website devoted to this problem by accident and also learned about the NO-FAP movement. I became interested in the benefits people associated with giving up masturbation and online porn.

What particularly caught my attention was the information that the brain is flexible and learns our habits and reflexes. It led me to reflect more deeply and examine my own life. Reading one of its articles felt as though someone were describing a situation similar to mine. I have now gone more than a week without masturbating and am fighting the habit at every step. I feel relieved knowing that so many people are in the same difficult situation as me.

I also do not approach the issue from a religious perspective, and I respect the fact that the author is an atheist. I hold agnostic views myself. But websites and articles like these make me want to fight and defeat the habit, meet a girl and perhaps get married one day. At present, my relationships with girls have been—and still are—pathetic because of my lack of courage and the regret I feel over the years I lost to masturbation.

I wish everyone perseverance, because it is worth it! You have to clear this rubbish from your brain and go out among people! ;) I should add that throughout all these years, my record without masturbation was a little over two months. Believe me or not, it really is worth it. All I can say is that the author was right: the beginning is genuinely very difficult and libido drops. As I wrote above, I am going through that now, so it is not easy. You feel as though you lack testosterone, but it is the opposite. Your DICK simply has to get used to no longer being stimulated by your hand :D and your brain has to clear itself of pornographic fantasies. It really works!

Regards to everyone reading this and to the author! Fight your weaknesses!
